Woof! This book made my tail wag!
Okay, so I was lying on top of my doghouse, doing my usual thinking (you know, deep thoughts about treats, tennis balls, and world peace), when I opened this book called
Peanut Butter & Cupcake by Terry Border. And OH BOY, it’s a snack-tastic story!
It’s all about this little guy named Peanut Butter who just moved to a new town and wants to find a friend to play soccer with. But it’s not easy! He asks Hamburger, Egg, and Cupcake (yum), but everyone’s already got a buddy or doing their own thing. Poor Peanut Butter! I felt like giving him a big Snoopy hug... with extra jelly!
This book is really about friendship and not giving up. Peanut Butter keeps asking and asking and doesn’t stop even when folks say “no.” That’s brave, and guess what? In the end, he does find a friend who wants to play — and even more friends join! It’s like a big friendly sandwich party. I wanted to jump right in and bring my dog bowl.
Also, the photos are super silly. Like, the characters are made from real food and wire legs — HA! Cupcake even has a cherry on top! I love a book that makes me giggle and makes me feel warm inside like a nap in the sun.
If you ever felt lonely or new somewhere, this book will make your heart smile. Just like how I feel when Charlie Brown finally throws the ball right!
ok! you made it to the end! ok the next color to go to is the pink book review!
